Record Videos in Gravity Forms with GoDAM Recorder
Gravity Forms is one of the most trusted form solutions for WordPress. One that we have been using for almost 15 years.
Recently, we have added a new feature, GoDAM Recorder, that is integrated as a Gravity Form field which you can place anywhere in the form editor. Using this GoDAM recorder field, your visitors submitting forms gets new capabilities such as:
- 🎥 Record a webcam stream from their devices. This is useful in job applications, online auditions, identity verifications, video testimonials.
- 🖥️ Capture screen recordings with or without mic audio. This is useful in customer support, and for some job applications type.
- 📁 Upload existing video files from their local storage. This is different from uploading video, as explained below.

As an admin, you can control if you want to enable all three modes above via GoDAM Recorder settings.
In all the above cases, videos are recorded, encoded and displayed in Gravity Form entries using a video player that supports adaptive bit rate streaming so you can play back video without needing to download the entire file locally.
Also, a visitor doesn’t need to install any software on their devices for the above to work. The entire feature is built using web standards.
GoDAM recorder is free to use when it comes to capturing video-powered entries in all three methods and playing back them in the Gravity From entries UI.
You only need to a GoDAM paid plan in case:
- you want a smoother playback experience using adaptive bitrate encoding, powered by Bunny CDN.
- you have limited storage with your WordPress hosting provider, so you want to offload videos to our cloud storage powered by Bunny Storage.
- you need AI-powered video transcription.
Below is a complete video walkthrough of this feature:
